In order for HR to partner successfully with
the core business, HR must create strategic programs and nurture
strategic relationships in direct support of the organization's
goals and objectives.
Typically the Programs include:
• Benefits and Compensation Planning
• Talent Acquisition and Development
• Employee Retention
• Employee Communications Strategy
• Performance Management
• Succession Planning
• Diversity Planning
Such programs are viewed as strategic because their success
or failure will directly impact HR’s ability to partner
with and deliver results for the organization it serves.
These
programs are very often supported by key relationships with
third parties such as insurance brokers, executive search
firms, HR consultants, and other trusted advisors that can
help construct and maintain the programs.
A
company’s overall success can often be traced back to
the successful strategic management of these programs and
relationships, relative to their competitors. The sole purpose
of these programs is to deliver a partnering relationship,
with executives and the rest of the organization, which results
in company success from a human capital perspective.
