Why
is HR still not strategic?
With
all of the technology breakthroughs in the past decade most
HR organizations are still viewed by their stakeholders as “necessary
administrators” and not “strategic business partners”.
Why is this? For starters, HR continues to invest a majority
of their time performing “back-office” administrative
processes. These comfort zone activities, although a necessary
function, add very little if any strategic value toward accomplishing
the core business goals. Additionally, many HR organizations
have not organized effectively to develop and manage strategic
HR initiatives such as performance management, organizational
development, leadership development, talent acquisition, training,
and compensation management. What is your plan? To shift resources
